After previously unveiling a new portrait in January, the White House revealed President Trump's latest official portrait with a bizarre video.

The White House was mocked by social media users after it revealed President Donald Trump's latest presidential portrait in a bizarre video—not too long after it faced criticism for other oddball portraits of Trump that have been on display.

In posts on X and Instagram, the White House declared that a "NEW OFFICIAL PRESIDENTIAL PORTRAIT JUST DROPPED," words accompanied by American flag and fire emojis.

The result the Trump administration is celebrating is... not great.

People were not impressed.

The White House was criticized in January for unveiling a portrait of Trump just before his inauguration. It shows him dressed in a blue suit and tie, standing before an American flag, a stern expression on his face—and that one also looked like a mugshot.

The New York Timeswrote then that the portrait "does not exactly scream celebration," noting that Trump was "shown sternly squinting, bathed in eerie, David Lynchian lighting from below, high-powered strobes reflected in his eyes" in a pose like the one "he struck for his 2024 mug shot, taken by the Fulton County, Georgia, sheriff’s office in that state’s election interference case."

And just last month, a journalist shared a photo of a portrait of Trump and former presidents Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan that now hangs in the West Wing. Trump is shown flanked by the two former leaders, a decision that prompted critics to point out that the portrait is a reflection of the president's narcissism.

Additionally, a separate portrait depicting the attempt on Trump's life last summer was derided because it replaced a portrait of former President Barack Obama.
